Probably missing a simple button. It happens on every rod, My Setup as follow.

I understand (I think) how reels and line works with the max drag etc. I understand the basic concepts, don't reel while the fish is running, change rod directions, etc. I'm sure I am doing something wrong but I can't figure it out.

The fish are not strong enough to break me off at the max length of line yet I can't reel anything in after 10 seconds, they just keep pulling line out afterwards.
